Hello, my name is Jake Emerick and I’m the proud owner of J.E Enterprises. When I was around 10 years old I saw Carpenter Dan setting a ridge beam on an addition going on at my house. When he got me involved to help him reload his nail gun my Bob the Builder career had just accelerated far beyond my well equipped Fischer Price level set up. The seed was planted and from then all I wanted to do was to build things. 

 

I started in business with very little money and my Honda Civic I had in the driveway at the time. It was quite a sight to see that little car loaded down with tools; even the table saw strapped to the roof. But I was in business and nothing was stopping me. There were plenty of small jobs and I was eager to get them. As I went along, I invested in tools and equipment to get the business to its first benchmark. Today I’m proud to have a professional level set up and I stay determined to build J.E Enterprises into a construction company that offers stable and sustainable employment to good people, while providing valuable services we all need in the community. I also just like having a good time in life so having a construction business lends naturally to that. 

 

​Although my business is an important and central part of my life, there is plenty that keeps me busy and happy outside of work. I am an active member of Stowe Community Church and thoroughly enjoy having such great people be part of my life. While I would not consider myself an expert on birding, it is quite enjoyable to find a spot where you can sit in a rocking chair, watch birds and enjoy a lazy afternoon. Living in Craftsbury offers great access to outdoor recreation so I spend plenty of time riding my bike, kayaking on Lake Eligo and mastering the art of enjoying the moment. I also enjoy reading and spend a good amount of time pursuing my self-guided education of various aspects of law.
